This is an ongoing list of things I have learned and am still learning since becoming a mother in 2009 and a mother of two in 2010. I emphasize I because every child is different and so the mothers of those different children will have different experiences. If something I share can help a woman or two avoid or alleviate stress or concern, then I'll consider that a blessing. This list will forever grow as mothers know, everyday contains a lesson learned!
~ It is more than possible to love someone more that you love yourself.
~ No sound is more beautiful or heartwarming than your baby laughing.
~ Tiny warm hands are the most adorable thing.
~ When you first hear it, "Mama" will be your favorite word...
~ Soon after, you want to change your name! :-P
~ You soon learn where the baby section is at EVERY store, regardless what you are actually shopping for!
~ There is a such thing as a baby weaning himself off of breastmilk.
~ There is a difference between sucking and biting(regarding nursing).
~ Small children have an amazing ability to judge character correctly.
~ Babies don't know how not to be selfish, you have to teach them, not with words, but with your actions.
~ If you didn't know you had a swearing problem BEFORE you had children, once they reach two, you will.
~ Every. Baby. Is. Different.
~ Saying "no" just once is not enough.
~ Special shoes are not needed for babies to learn to walk.
~ Babies learn by watching what you do not by what you say.
~ Showing your child affection regularly is not spoiling them.
~ You (I) could take a lesson from your babies in forgiveness.
~ Messes are an everyday occurance.
~ Sometimes they cry just to see what you will do.
~ Changing diapers is a stroll in the park compared to emptying out potty seats!
~ There is NO such thing as Perfection! Doing your best is "perfect" enough!
~ Don't underestimate the benefits of positive reinforcement.
~ Leading by example helps your words stick.
This is a great list and I agree with all of them lol :)
